As reported by Deadline, fans of The Orville: New Horizons will have to wait a little longer for more adventures with Captain Ed Mercer and his crew. Thankfully, the Hulu Powers That Be blessed us with a sneak peek of the new season to tide us over!

The Orville ran for two seasons on Fox, with the sophomore installment ending in 2019. New Horizons is the title of the third season, marking the show’s move to the mega-streamer.

According to Deadline, filming began in October of 2019 for Season 3, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed production, which wrapped almost two years later.

Here’s a synopsis for the new season per Hulu

Set 400 years in the future, The Orville: New Horizons finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.

The sneak peek reveals the first three minutes of the season’s premiere and the new title sequence. Based on this opening scene, it appears we’re in for a thrilling, pedal-to-the-metal sci-fi adventure. The visual effects look stunning, fully immersing us in the world of the U.S.S. Orville. I’ve always loved the show’s opening credits, and the new look delivers the goods.
