Over the weekend, down at San Diego Comic Con, we got a lot of news about Marvel Studio’s Netflix series, most especially with Luke Cage, but we didn’t see a lot about when they would be hitting our screens. All we know for certain, right now, is that Luke Cage hits our televisions on September 30th and that the trailer for the series has the world of nerds excited because they’ve pretty much nailed it.

However, yesterday, at the TCA Press Tour, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, spelled the release date out for us a bit more. According to Screen Crush, Iron Fist and Defenders will both hit next year, in 2017, with a second season of Jessica Jones said to “film back-to-back with The Defenders” and then the Punisher would start production sometime after that.

As they say, this means the second season of Jessica Jones, the first season of The Punisher and the third season of Daredevil will all be hitting in 2018, or after. It might be that Netflix changes their release strategy and, instead of two series a year, they go for three, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a while to hear that news.

Let’s see how that breaks down
Luke Cage — September
Iron Fist — filming now for 2017 release, most likely early in the year
The Defenders — filming later this year for 2017 release, most likely later in the year
Jessica Jones, second season — start production soon after Defenders
Daredevil, third season

Then, there’s this fun little bit. Will Punisher make an appearance in The Defenders? When asked this question at TCA, Sarandos responded with “Stay tuned.”

Marvel's Daredevil

We think that means yes.
