Bloober Team recently dropped a new trailer for their upcoming title The Medium. The third-person psychological horror game follows protagonist Marianne. She is a medium who has the ability to travel between the world of the living and the dead. Marianne is haunted by a vision of a child’s murder. She sets off to investigate and her clues lead her to an abadoned hotel that hides a dark secret. The first few trailers showed off gameplay, story and even different characters. However, this trailer gives us something a bit different.

The new trailer for The Medium is short, simple and hauntingly beautiful. It focuses on sharing how Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński inspired the game’s dark art style. Game artists at Bloober Team spent months closely studying his dystopian work in order to bring it to life. The trailer shifts through different pieces of concept art that gives us a true look at the grim and unsettling reality of the world. The trailer shifts through each piece with the track, Marianne’s Theme by Arkadiusz Reikowski playing.

Bloober Team has shared the track for free through Steam along with The Maw from Akira Yamaoka. The two tracks come together to introduce players to both the world of the living and the dead. The trailer comes to an end with one last announcement – an official release date of December 10, 2020! The Medium will be one of the first Xbox Series X exclusive titles. It can also be pre-orded for PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft as well.
