On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Marvel Studios released a “new look” and IMAX poster for The Marvels. The next big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe release stars Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Photon (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) in an adventure that stretches from New Jersey to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
The Marvels in IMAX
The new look features plenty of glimpses of The Marvels we haven’t seen before. This includes a shot of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) holding an adorable little Flerken as he shouts in a very serious way. In another scene, we see what might be members of Fury’s S.W.O.R.D. team. Another shot shows the three superheroes standing against a cadre of armored Kree soldiers. Plus, there are also several shots of what appear to be starfighters over an Earth city. And it seems as though there may be an attempt to steal Earth’s water through the hexagonal warp grid used for travel across the Cosmic MCU?

This “new look” is just the latest release of footage from The Marvels. Recently, a featurette tying together previous chapters in the story was released. And that was following several previous trailers for the highly anticipated next big-screen entry in the MCU.
The Marvels is a sequel to the movie Captain Marvel and the Disney+ shows WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, and is directed by Nia DaCosta. Plus, in addition to the return of the aforementioned human stars, MCU fans can look forward to the return of Goose the Flerken, as well.
