Thank you, and goodnight! Miriam “Midge” Maisel is back for her final bow in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5. Prime Video unveiled the official trailer for the critically acclaimed comedy’s last hurrah.

Here’s the synopsis for Season 5 per Amazon Studios

“In the fifth and final season, Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.”

The trailer opens with Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) declaring she wants a “big life” and to “break all the rules.” If you recall, in the Season 4 finale, Midge watches Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) deliver a killer set at Carnegie Hall after the pair share an intimate night. After the show, Lenny confronts Midge and urges her not to blow it for herself, career-wise. Midge walks home through a blizzard that night and chances upon a massive billboard for The Gordon Ford Show. Could that be her destiny?

Lenny Bruce is noticeably absent from the trailer; however, don’t fret, MidgeLenny lovers. Luke Kirby is returning for the final season in some capacity, as evidenced by the official still below. Midge and Lenny appear to be standing in a long corridor as they share an emotionally-charged glance. The real Lenny died in 1966, so we’re not that far off from his unfortunate passing. Here’s hoping this isn’t the last time Midge and Lenny see each other.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stars Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Caroline Aaron, Kevin Pollak, Reid Scott, Alfie Fuller, Jason Ralph and Tony Shalhoub. Milo Ventimiglia and Kelly Bishop will return as guest stars. You can even spot Ventimiglia in the Season 5 trailer. On another note, Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu is conspicuously absent. I love Mei, so this breaks my heart.

I’m excited about this next chapter but heartbroken that it’s the last. Amy Sherman-Palladino has created something magical, and while Midge isn’t perfect (Who is?), it’s been a blast watching her smash glass ceilings left and right.

You can check out the photo of Midge and Lenny, take a peek at the key art for the season and watch the trailer below. Brace yourself for Midge’s final act when The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 debuts on Friday, April 14, 2023, with the first three episodes, followed by weekly episodic drops until the series finale on Friday, May 26.
