Everyone’s favorite space dad and his frog-eating son are coming back, baby! As reported by Variety, The Mandalorian now has a premiere date for its highly anticipated third season. Initially, Season 3 was supposed to debut sometime in February 2023.
Season 3 will pick up after The Book of Boba Fett. If you recall, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) reunited with Grogu on Tatooine. After assisting Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) in ridding Mos Espa of the Pyke Syndicate, Din set course for Mandalore to restore his Mandalorian status. A teaser trailer from a few months ago showed Mando heading into battle on his homeworld.

Besides Pascal as Mando, other cast members slated to return include Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze. Christopher Lloyd was recently announced to make a cameo in Season 3.
The Star Wars franchise is coming off a hot streak thanks to the critical and audience reception of Andor‘s freshman season. The Diego Luna-led series, which boasts a 12-episode first season, has been praised by critics and fans for its more adult approach, darker tones, poignant themes and moving performances. There’s already a 12-episode Season 2 on the way.

Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano, will premiere in 2023, along with The Acolyte, a High Republic-era series, which will premiere on August 11, 2023. Ahsoka comes from executive producers Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy, while The Acolyte hails from Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland.
I can’t wait to reunite with my favorite father-son duo. Thankfully, we only have three months to wait. That’s right; The Mandalorian will return on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, only on Disney+.
