We know when The Mandalorian will return. During Disney‘s company earning call today, CEO Bob Iger spoke with shareholders about the exciting content coming up. While he was incredibly vague with details, we did learn a few things that will make any Star Wars fan excited with the possibilities. I mean, does a spin-off series sound exciting to you?

Thanks to Variety, we’ve learned that October will be the month to glue ourselves to Disney Plus. While details are very slim right now, we know that at least one new character will be joining the series, thanks to a post by series creator Jon Favreau. What will the Mando and The Child aka Baby Yoda be up to? Will we hear his first words? Will they get into more hijinks? October’s too long of a wait!

If that wasn’t enough news for us, Iger also dropped some bombshell news. Well, bombshell in the fact that my mind is blown. He reportedly told the shareholders that season 2 of the series would “includ[e] the possibility of infusing [the show] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.” That’s right – spin-off series!

One of my favorite parts about The Mandalorian is the fact that we are traveling to many different planets and seeing the galaxy through the common man’s eyes. If we are going to get even more of that and go to even crazier places? Sign. Me. Up. Of course, that’s all Iger would say of the news so we don’t know if this is even a sure thing. Heck, nothing at Lucasfilm is a sure thing. However, if there’s more Star Wars content outside of the saga films, I’m ready for it. I’m ready for all the new adventures!

One more thing he quickly mentioned was that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and Cassian Andor series are still in the works. However, he made the remark that there are “shows and features in development”. Does that mean one of these apparent series may be a film instead? I certainly hope not. We need more time with these characters than we can get in a feature film. So if it’s not these shows, what is currently still in development for film?

What do you think of the news? Are you looking forward to everything Disney has in store for the galaxy far, far away or have you been burned too many times? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Star Wars news.
