Fans of The Child, the wait is over… almost. Star Wars took to their official twitter today to finally give us the release date for season two of the highly popular Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian. While they have been upfront that the new season would air in the fall, there was never a solid date until now. It is likely that they will be following the same format as season one’s release schedule, which means we will see the first episode air on Friday, October 30, 2020. My entire collection of The Child related items and I are already ready to dive in.

Thankfully, unlike other Disney Plus shows, The Mandalorian did not face the same delay issues in the wake of COVID-19. There is only one thing that has been holding us over these last few months. The never ending stream of casting news. Pedro Pascal returns, bringing back Carl Weathers, Gina CaranoBill Burr and Giancarlo Esposito. They will be joined by Katee SackhoffTimothy OIyphantMichael Biehn, Rosario Dawson and Temuera Morrison. There is no doubt that these guys will bring us an amazing second season.

As far as what we are going to see in season two? Well that bit is still up in the air. Season one ended with Mando and The Child heading out to return the youngling to his proper home. It also showed a scene with Moff Gideon using the darksaber to tear apart his wrecked ship. This has led to a lot of theories that the second season will focus heavily on the weapon itself. This theory was reinforced with the casting of Dawson and Sackhoff as Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan, both of whom have a history with the darksaber.

Now that we have an official release date for season two, it is hopeful that a new trailer will soon follow. We have roughly two months, so I imagine we should be seeing it sooner rather than later. Let us know in the comments down below and on social media how excited you are to finally return to the world of The Mandalorian on October 30, 2020!
