Syfy just dropped the latest The Magicians trailer and revealed the Season 5 premiere date – January 15, 2020.

The trailers begins with the crew dealing with deep grief over the loss of Quentin. They’re broken (we still are too). But as magic comes back into the world because of Q’s sacrifice, it’s not making things better.

In fact, there are side effects. Castings are getting exponentially magnified and enchantments are malfunctioning and as Dean says, “There’s too much god-damned magic!”

As the realization that things are kinda screwed settles in, Eliot says, “Are we in trouble again?” Then the trailer is off to the races. It jam-packed with action from the next season. We see the faeries and they are looking fierce and ready to fight, we see the library, Fillory and much more as the our favorite magicians have to band together to save the world because, “it’s the literal end of the actual world.”

January 15th and The Magicians can’t come soon enough.

Based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books, The Magicians centers around Brakebills University, a secret institution specializing in magic. There, amidst an unorthodox education of spellcasting, a group of twenty-something friends soon discover that a magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity.
