Last year, The Lost Boys pilot was passed on by The CW however the network was game to give the series, based on the 1987 film of the same name, another chance. It’s been retooled and a new cast has been announced, Deadline reported. Branden Cook, Lincoln Younes and Ruby Cruz have won lead roles in the vampire drama.
Cook will play Garrett, who was played by Jason Patric in the 80s film. Garret is the older of the two brothers who have moved with their mom to the North Carolina seaside community. Younes plays Benjamin, the charismatic leader of the gang of vampires in the town. This role was played by Kiefer Sutherland in the 80s film. And Cruz will play Elsie, Jami Gertz’s character from the 80s film however her name was Star then. Elsie likes the new guy in town, Garrett.

In The Lost Boys, a mother and her Gen Z sons move to the seaside town where she grew up, they discover there’s a sinister reason the local cool kids sleep all day, party all night, never grow up and never get old. Family bonds are tested as the brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle. Based on the 1987 cult classic that revolutionized how we think about vampires.
The Lost Boys series is written by Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas and directed by Marcos Siega.
Here’s a little gift for those of you who were fans of the film back in 1987. And for those who don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m sure you’ve seen the ‘Saxaphone Guy’ meme. You’re welcome.
