The first photos of the upcoming film It: Chapter Two are here and it appears that crazy clown is still scaring the pants off of the Losers Club. The Comic Con Bonus Issue of Entertainment Weekly also features a story of bringing the sequel to life.
It: Chapter Two picks up 27 years after the first film, It. The two films are based on one book, also titled It, by Stephen King. All of the kids have grown up and moved away from Derry, except Mike (Isaiah Mustafa). When kids start disappearing again, Mike calls on his friends to return to deal with Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgård) once and for all.
The film also includes the child cast from the first film. Like the books, It: Chapter Two will bounce back and forth to recall memories. It’s interesting how much the adult cast resembles the child cast. Hopefully we’ll get some side by side photos soon.
In the meantime, the first photos show the club going after Pennywise. There are also a couple of covers featuring the Losers’ Club in one and Pennywise on the other. This showdown will be fun to watch. According to the article, Pennywise is more ruthless this time around and the film will feature some pretty gruesome scenes. I can’t wait! The film stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Mustafa as the adult Losers Club. Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jack Dylan Grazer, Chosen Jacobs, and Wyatt Oleff return as the child versions. Andy Muschietti directed the film.
It: Chapter Two premieres in theaters on September 6, 2019
