Disney’s The Lion King released seven character posters, featuring the stars face to face with the characters. The posters feature the voice cast lead by Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is a live-action remake of the 1994 animated movie. Other posters feature John Oliver as Zazu, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon; Alfre Woodard as Sarabi; The hyenas Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi and Eric André as Azizi; and JD McCrary as Young Simba and Shahadi Wright Joseph as Young Nala.
These posters are awesome. Powerful even, especially Beyonce and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Their presence in pictures commands attention. Another commanding presence is James Earl Jones. I wish we had gotten a Mufasa poster considering Jones was part of both versions of the film. But I am really impressed with the cast and really can’t wait to see this film.
Disney’s upcoming film journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy, and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. (movies.disney.com)
