Naughty Dog shared on Twitter yesterday that a new trailer for the long-awaited The Last of Us Part II would come out today. Well let me tell you, this trailer does not disappoint. The Last of Us Part II serves as the direct sequel to 2013’s The Last of Us. Where the first game features a story about the familial love between Joel and Ellie and their journey, this time around it is all about the hate in the world. The trailer doesn’t share what event transpires to disrupte the peace. We only get to see how this sets Ellie on her path of vengeance as she leaves Joel behind.

The Last of Us Part II trailer opens by featuring shots of a younger Ellie and Joel. This might mean that we are going to get some flashbacks to events over the five-year gap. The trailer then jumps to an older Ellie. An Ellie who is covered in scars physically and emotionally. We see her setting out to complete her quest by any means necessary. The trailer shows that this time her fight isn’t against Infected, but other humans.

The official description from Naughty Dog for The Last of Us Part II is as follows: After a vicious and violent event disrupts the relative peace that Ellie has found in Jackson, she sets out to bring justice to those responsible. As she hunts them down one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

After two delays we will finally be able to get our hands on The Last of Us Part II on June 19, 2020. It will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Check out the trailer below and let us know in the comments and on social media how you feel about it.
