New THE LAST JEDI TV Spot Shows Rey's Temptation

The Last Jedi feels like it’s around the corner. With EW’s massive coverage and some actors starting the promotional tour, it seems so much closer than it is. Yet with this new TV spot, the wait feels excruciating. There’s so many questions!

While we have somewhat around the same footage as we’ve seen in other material, there’s a significant scene. While Rey (Daisy Ridley) is meditating, her voice over tells us that besides seeing a balance, there’s something else. Something calling to her. The edit shows Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) extending his hand towards her, tempting her to join him. Luke (Mark Hamill), watching over her helplessly, screams to try to get her out of whatever is tempting her.

You guys know what time it is. Put your speculation hats on and join me as we try to break this down a bit. Now, we’ve established that Kylo Ren and Rey have some sort of connection. One that neither of them can explain. So either she’s found Kylo through the Force and is being sucked into his path. Or maybe Snoke (Andy Serkis) has somehow found her. I’m going to go with the former and believe that’s how Kylo Ren will find Rey and Luke. Again, pure speculation.

Honestly, seeing Mark Hamill as Luke trying to reach Rey and not getting anywhere is really sad. I can see why someone like her would scare him into hiding again. His desperate scream for her breaks my heart. I can’t wait to see the repercussions of what she did during that meditation.
