STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Has an Alien Version of Carrie Fisher’s Dog

The Last Jedi is out in 4 days. It’s so close I feel my seams about to burst from excitement! And while some of the lucky few have seen it already, us normies will have to wait. And while we wait, some eagle eyed fans have found one alien that resembles a striking member of the Star Wars family.

For those unaware, Carrie Fisher had a French bulldog named Gary that she would take with her everywhere. And I mean everywhere – at conventions, at premieres, on book tours. They were everywhere together. He was also with her during the filming of The Last Jedi and she must’ve pulled some strings because we officially have a alien Gary. That’s right! On Twitter, writer and director Rian Johnson confirmed an alien Gary in a galaxy far, far away.

But that’s not all! The fans were able to spot the small creature in a still from the film. In Canto Bight, a gambling alien is holding what I’m going to call space dog. The big, brown eyes and adorable folds have been inspired by Mr. Gary Fisher (Sorry Mark Hamill‘s dog, Millie!). We’re gonna go ahead and say that his name is Gary, too. It’s such a simple yet adorable addition to the film, one that means even more now that Carrie has passed. We’ll see his debut soon enough.

What do you think of the little alien? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more fun Star Wars news. The Last Jedi comes to theaters December 15th.
