The Killer’s Shopping List
We are kicking this weekend off with a pick from the thriller side of WEBTOON. Kang Ji-young and Jung Seok-hyun’s The Killer’s Shopping List follows Eunji Cha, who suffers from an undiagnosed medical disorder that causes violent seizures. Not only that, she suffered greatly at the hands of her abusive parents and uncovers just how terrifying her lineage is. She spends years trying to keep her inner demons under wraps. But when she finds someone just as frightening, she soon becomes trapped in a perilous game of cat-and-mouse.
Typically, we share trigger warnings at the end of this section. Still, we felt it necessary to highlight that The Killer’s Shopping List is a mature-rated series for several reasons before getting into why we love it. We know this series won’t be for everyone, but this is a real gem for those who love the thriller genre. It isn’t just scary. The story itself is unsettling, forcing you to keep going. We couldn’t ignore the tease of potentially uncovering the secrets in the next chapter. So we binged it, and we would binge again.

Happiness
Our second series, Happiness, is another from Jung Seok-hyun, along with Jin Cheol-soo and Park Si-hyun. The action series follows Saebom and Ihyeon, who decide to get married to qualify to buy an apartment together—their dream home. Except these aren’t two normal individuals; this isn’t a normal world. Saebom is a part of the special forces, and Ihyeon is a detective for a local police force, and there is a virus turning people violent and thirsty for blood. Now, the two must figure out how to navigate this terrifying world.
Happiness is an action movie on WEBTOON, but it also includes drama, thriller and comedy. There is much to uncover in Saebom and Ihyeon’s past and their relationship, but then there is a ton to take in about the story. In a world where there is a new zombie-esque story every other day, it is hard to find ones that keep you invested. Thankfully, this knows exactly how to add drama and gore while not making it too over the top. It’s a great series for zombie and action lovers to dive into.
