During today’s IGN Fan Fest, Netflix dropped an exclusive clip from their supernatural drama The Irregulars. The series is based on a group of young boys from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s Sherlock Holmes novels. They would help get information that Holmes himself wouldn’t normally have access to. The Netflix series creator Tom Bidwell has reimagined the group into older teens of mixed genders who are the only ones that can stop an impending dark magical threat from destroying London.

In this exclusive clip for The Irregulars, we see Bea (Thaddea Graham), the group leader, meeting with Dr. John Watson (Royce Pierreson) within 221B Baker Street. She asks him how he knew the girl she was spending time with was her sister. When he doesn’t answer, she threatens that he will never see them again, using the fact that he needs them against him. But not just the group; he needs her sister Jessie (Darci Shaw). Watson finally opens up and tells Bea that Jessie is gifted. When Bea questions how he even knows that, he says that “when you spend a lifetime fighting demons, you get to learn how to spot an angel”.
Bea leaves 221B Bake Street to find her sister Jessie sitting out front in the next shot. When Jessie asks if everything was alright, Bea claims she was just getting their money. As she walks away, the clip flips back and forth between the sisters and Bea’s conversation with Dr. Watson. He continues telling her that horror has come to London and they know nothing of what it is to be afraid. He warns her not to go far and that this is just the beginning. This is where the clip comes to an end and we are treated to The Irregulars logo.
This clip may not include supernatural horrors or gruesome images like the original trailer did. But it really does pack a punch and raises quite a few questions. How is Jessie gifted? What can she do? What demons have Dr. Watson faced? Why does he need them? Why does he look like he just got punched in the face? And these are just from what we can gather from the clip. What about all of the horrors we saw in the first trailer! Hopefully, we will have all of the answers to these and then some when the series releases.
The Irregulars stars Thaddea Graham, Royce Pierreson, Darci Shaw, Jojo Macari, McKell David, Harrison Osterfield and Henry Llyod-Hughes. It will premiere on Netflix starting March 26, 2021. Check out the clip below and let us know what your theories are!
