The hero of Harlem can’t catch a break. In a new clip released by Netflix, we get a quick peek at the second season of Luke Cage. The man is just trying to walk down the street but when you have fame like he does, he’ll always be stopped. And whatever he does, it never seems like it’s enough – at least to these residents.

In the clip, a fan calls out to him, saying that Luke (Mike Colter) was beaten by Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir). Luke corrects him but before they can say anymore, more fans chime in. Bushmaster is terrorizing their neighborhood and things are getting really bad for them. One fan’s cousin is getting beaten up by the cops because of his hair. And even children don’t think Luke is doing enough to protect their neighborhood. Being the hero and having those superpowers means you need to help everyone with everything, it seems.

One of the things I liked best about it was how easy it seems to speak to Luke Cage. That sounds really silly but in the Avengers films, you never really get to see them interacting with people on the street. Especially not people they’re saving. It’s one of the things I like best about the Netflix series – these characters are in a smaller area. They’re not saving the world, they’re saving their neighborhood. And they can hear the cheers (or sometimes boos) of the people they’re saving.
