In case you missed it, The Haunting of Hill House is returning for a second season. While the first season was inspired by the 1959 Shirley Jackson novel of the same name and followed the Crain family, this season will be inspired by  Henry James’ 1898 horror novel, The Turn of the Screw, and will be called The Haunting of Bly Manor.

It will tell the story of a young governess hired to care for a pair weirdly beautiful, strangely distant, oddly silent siblings. Things quickly take a strange turn for this governess. She soon discovers a beckoning evil is festering on this estate. And the evil appears to have a hold on the children.

Since the announcement that Hill House would be returning sometime in 2020 (how dare you make me wait), the cast for this season has slowly but surely been announced. And it looks like we have an American Horror Story situation on our hands, folks. Because over the last couple of months, fans have been pleasantly surprised to discover that the cast is made up of Hill House veterans.

As previously mentioned in another Bly Manor related post we already know Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who played Luke Crain, will be returning as “a charming fellow” called Peter and Victoria Pedretti, who played Eleanor “Nellie” Crain, will be returning as the governess named Dani who “takes care of two very unusual children.”

With the recasting of two Hill House veterans it wasn’t a total surprise to see the rest of the cast follow suit. Joining Jack-Cohen and Pedretti in returning for this season is  Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas and Catherine Parker. They’re roles, as of right now, remain a mystery. We’ve also got some fresh faces joining the Bly Manor cast. Including Rahul Kohli (iZombie) who will reportedly play “a small town guy with a worldly mindset, who has returned to the country to take care of his ailing mother.” We also have Amelia Eve and Benjamin Ainsworth who will play Flora and Miles, two children who apparently play “critical roles” in the Bly Manor story. And to finish things off we’ve got T’Nia Miller whose role also remains a mystery.
