Calling all fans of The Umbrella Academy! Today is your lucky day. The official Twitter account for the Netflix original series released a brand new poster for Season 2! And, as if that wasn’t enough, said poster featuring The Umbrella Academy cast is rife with delectable Easter eggs!
In the poster, the Hargreeves family are posing in some snazzy sunglasses. Most of them are facing the same direction save Klaus (Robert Sheehan), who has his glasses resting on the tip of his nose. He’s also looking directly at the audience. The tagline, “Same weird family. New weird problems,” is scrawled above their heads. What’s particularly intriguing about this poster are the reflections in each character’s sunglasses.
Now, I think it’s safe to assume that these subtle clues are hints regarding what to expect for the upcoming season. We see the words “War declared” in the reflection of Luther’s (Tom Hopper) sunglasses. Meanwhile, Diego’s (David Castañeda) sunglasses appear to feature an image of a woman with her eyes closed. Allison’s (Emmy Raver-Lampman) shades showcase what looks like a cluster of signage. Admittedly, it would probably help to have impeccable 20/20 vision while examining this poster.
Next, Klaus’ snazzy frames feature a plethora of hands raised with splashes of color. It gives off some massive hippie/1960s vibes. Ben’s (Justin Min) sunglasses show the Hargreeves family as kids, back when they were a crime-fighting superhero clan. Vanya’s (Ellen Page) shades reflect what appears to be a farm scene – I can vaguely make out a windmill in the background, along with two other mysterious individuals. Lastly, Number Five’s (Aidan Gallagher) sunglasses showcase a nondescript scene. Undoubtedly, it’s most likely rooted in gore given the blood splatters on his face.
