The Handmaid’s Tale is marching right into its third season and we’re starting to get some news. It’s good news. Actors Elizabeth Reaser (The Haunting of Hill House) and Christopher Meloni (Happy!) have both signed on to appear in season three.
Meloni and Reaser will guest star in the upcoming season of the dystopian drama. And, they’ll do it as a couple. According to Deadline, Meloni will play Commander Winslow, “a powerful and magnetic Commander who hosts the Waterfords on an important trip.” Reaser will play his wife, “who becomes a friend and inspiration to Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski)”. So both actors will be taking a deep dive into Gilead. It will be interesting to see what side Reaser’s “inspiration” will fall on. Is she for Gilead or against it? Serena is, at the very least, malleable at the end of season two.

Season three is said to be centered on June’s (Elisabeth Moss) “resistance to the dystopian regime of Gilead and her struggle to strike back against overwhelming odds. Startling reunions, betrayals, and a journey to the terrifying heart of Gilead force all characters to take a stand, guided by one defiant prayer: “Blessed be the fight.” Oh my god, yes. When last we saw June, she had made the choice to go back in to the lion’s den on her own to get Hannah. We can’t wait to see what the fight looks like!!
Production on season three of The Handmaid’s Tale is currently underway! Under his eye.
