Get your “Huzzahs!” in now — we’ve got a premiere date for The Great Season 3. Hulu took to social media to unveil the premiere date and a first-look photo for fans.
Here’s a synopsis for Season 3 per Hulu Press:
“Season 3 of The Great sees Catherine and Peter attempt to make their marriage work after some seemingly insurmountable problems. Peter witnessed his own attempted murder at Catherine’s hands, and she also imprisoned all of his friends. On top of this, Peter is at a loose end playing First Husband to Catherine’s reign, so he busies himself with fathering, hunting and salty culinary ventures. But they’re not enough to keep him contented as visions of his late father get in his head about his failures as Peter the Great’s son.
Catherine the Great starts making a name for herself beyond her borders and, inspired by a visit from the US ambassador, sets up a conference where peasants, nobles and merchants can all give their input on developing a new Russia. She learns that even the best political leaders sometimes need to make compromises in order to progress.”

The Great, created, written and executive produced by Tony McNamara, made its Hulu debut on May 15, 2020, to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Season 2 premiered on November 19, 2021, with a swift third season renewal in January 2022.
The series stars Elle Fanning as Catherine, Nicholas Hoult as Peter, Phoebe Fox as Marial, Sacha Dhawan as Orlo, Gwilym Lee as Grigor, Adam Godley as Archie, Douglas Hodge as Velementov, Belinda Bromilow as Elizabeth, Bayo Gbadamosi as Arkady, Florence Keith-Roach as Tatyana and Charity Wakefield as Georgina. Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs guest starred in Season 2 as Joanna and Peter the Great, respectively.

I’ve been waiting impatiently for a Season 3 premiere date since roughly November 20, 2021. I started watching this series with relatively tempered expectations, but it blew those expectations out of the water. Hoult and Fanning embody these characters and make them so damn likable despite their morally questionable acts.
