Here’s an interesting one for you. As of yesterday, anime streaming giant Crunchyroll is offering a limited edition run of The God of High School-themed clothing. The collection is fairly diverse and includes several short- and long-sleeved pieces as well as a hoodie. The pieces are unified by a solid, simple design aesthetic and all of them have a central panel graphic. In all of the items, this depicts The God of High School‘s cast in some way.
Personally, I’m fond of the hoodie and its lavender purple hue. (That’s it up there in the article banner.) I also quite like the long-sleeved shirt in pink with our heroes in the center panel and Hangul characters underneath.
There’s also a black tee with Jin and Han in a red/yellow color scheme, a long-sleeved black tee with the cast in blue, and another with some of the recently-introduced Nox members in purple. There’s even a shirt with Mah Miseon on it, if you’re a big fan of characters who don’t quite get to do as much as they probably should. The collection in general is pretty nice, although the more pastel items are the clear highlights here. (Not a huge surprise, the more adventurous color choices tend to be the highlights of any such collection.)
Purple and pink work surprisingly well for such an action-oriented series! I’m not always huge on panel graphics, personally. (They leave so much blank space! Why not use the whole shirt?) But this is about as well as the concept can be pulled off without getting into some more out-there territory.
All in all this is a pretty solid little collection. It’s not the sort of thing that’s going to be for everyone. (Is any streetwear collection?) But if you like The God of High School, this seems like a nice way to show that off. The collection is available for a limited time only, running until August 31st on Crunchyroll’s store.
