Geoff Keighley and The Game Awards took to Twitter today to share the nominations for 2020. The 10-minute video goes through the 30 categories we will be able to vote on. This includes Best Performance, Best Audio Design and Content Creator of the Year, just to name a few. They are also introducing two new categories this year. Fans will be able to vote for the game with the most innovation in accessibility as well as the best esports athlete.

Even over 30 categories, there are a few games that continuously pop up. The Last of Us Part II, Hades, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghosts of Tsushima and Ori and the Will of the Wisps can be spotted across multiple categories. The event promises a night full of celebrating our favorite games, content creators and esports teams! The big category of the night, and the one everyone was waiting to hear is, of course, Game of the Year. This year the six nominees include Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghosts of Tsushima, Hades and The Last of Us Pt 2.
Were these games on your list? I can spot quite a few that have my vote! This is going to take some serious deliberation on my part. The Game Awards 2020 is set to take place Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 7 p.m. EST. It will be livestreamed across the world for fans to enjoy from the safety of their homes. Be sure to jump over to The Game Awards website and vote in each of the categories! Let us know on social media which game you think should win Game of the Year!
