We are in full swing of spooky season and Mike Flanagan has dropped more news to make my spooky soul even happier. If dropping Midnight Mass last month wasn’t enough, he has announced more upcoming projects with Netflix. It was shared on the Netflix Geeked Twitter account that Flanagan is creating a series titled The Fall of the House of Usher based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe.

The Fall of the House of Usher is a short gothic tale that invokes the themes of madness, family, isolation and metaphysical identities. We weren’t given any plot details or if the series will feature any other stories from Poe. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t over the moon excited. As a massive fan of the gothic horror genre, Flanagan’s shows have quickly become some of my favorite. He has a way of bringing these stories to life in a way that doesn’t feel cheesy or over the top.

Flanagan will serve as executive producer alongside Trevor Macy, Emmy Grinwis and Michael Fimognari under Intrepid Pictures. Plus, Flanagan and Fimognari will each direct four of the series episodes. And that is everything we know about The Fall of the House of Usher so far. I imagine we will get more news after the release of Flanagan’s other series, The Midnight Club.

So, be sure to check back in with us as more Netflix and Flanagan news comes out! Are you excited for The Fall of the House of Usher? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
