Netflix and Mike Flanagan have dropped more casting news for his upcoming horror mini-series, The Fall of the House of Usher. Yesterday we were introduced to the first five cast members, Frank Langella, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Mark Hamill and Carl Lumby. Today they announced 19 more actors and actresses for the series. That’s right – 19! The series is based on works from Edgar Allan Poe and will run for eight episodes directed by Flanagan and Michael Fimognari.

The Fall of the House of Usher will include Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish and Robert Longstreet. We should have known that a series from Flanagan would include some of the best actors and actresses we have seen in a long time. We are patiently waiting to see exactly who they will be playing within the series.
Flanagan has shared that The Fall of the House of Usher will feature themes of madness, family, isolation and identity and will be an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy. I do not doubt that he will be able to bring this tale to life while simultaneously finding ways to terrify us to our bone. Like all of his series, I anticipate it will quickly become a must-watch on Netflix.
We do not currently have a release date for The Fall of the House of Usher at this time. I imagine it will come after the release of Flanagan’s other project The Midnight Club. Be sure to check back for more news on the series as it is announced! While you wait, we suggest checking out Flanagan’s other work, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. What do you think of the casting?
