“We wandered, broken, trying desperately to keep ourselves going by pretending we’re not.”

Screaming Firehawks, the official trailer for Season Six of The Expanse is here, and it’s a doozy! Judging by this nearly three-minute video, it looks like we’re in for a hell of a final mission.

Here’s a synopsis for Season Six per Amazon Studios

The sixth and final season of The Expanse picks up with the solar system at war, as Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continue to launch devastating asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. As the tensions of war and shared loss threaten to pull the crew of the Rocinante apart, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a bold move and sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper on a secret mission that could turn the tide.

Meanwhile in the Belt, Drummer and what’s left of her family are on the run and hunted for betraying Marco. And on a distant planet beyond the Rings, a new power begins to rise.

Secretary-General Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo) aptly narrates the trailer as we see just how broken everyone is — Belters, Earthers and Martians alike. Marco (Keon Alexander) declares Ceres as the capital of the Belt, while we get a glimpse of Kathleen Robertson as Rosenfeld Guoliang, a key member of Marco’s inner circle.

Bobbie (Frankie Adams) utilizes the Roci as her base of operations for her stealth mission, reuniting most of our core cast members for the final outing. Of course, in the Season Five finale, Amos (Wes Chatham) brought Clarissa (Nadine Nicole) on board, which will undoubtedly create tension in the crew, a crew that’s still grieving Alex’s passing.

We also see Drummer (Cara Gee) on the run from Marco, but she still has a stake in this universal fight.

The Expanse‘s sixth season will adapt James S.A. Corey‘s Babylon’s Ashes and novella Strange Dogs for the small screen. Strange Dogs follows a young girl, Cara, who lives on Laconia. One day, she spots a peculiar pack of dogs lurking near a pond. In the final shot of the trailer, we see who is, presumably, Cara as she interacts with one of the “dogs.” Although, admittedly, it doesn’t look like an average canine.

The Expanse stars Steven StraitDominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Cara Gee, Frankie Adams, Nadine Nicole, Keon Alexander, Jasai Chase Owens and Shohreh Aghdashloo. On Friday, December 10, be sure to tune in for the Season Six premiere on Amazon Prime. The final six episodes will air weekly until the series finale on Friday, January 14, 2022.
