The Doubleclicks are known for their Billboard-charting sibling folk-pop music and also the voices behind the highly successful Roaring Rainbow event that supported trans youth. And if that wasn’t enough to catch your eye, Laser Malena-Webber and Aubrey Turner have written a musical with the help of composer and producer E. Aaron Wilson! And just shy of the release of Teaching a Robot to Love, they have dropped a brand new spooky video for Science at Home.
Teaching a Robot to Love follows Mary Coral, who knows the only way she’ll make her dreams come true is by making the greatest science program of all time. So, it’s perfect that she’s being asked to do her summer internship at Advernado. The most outstanding tech company in Nanotroplis. But what happens when Mary meets Faun, a biology intern obsessed with pushing the boundaries. Or, Lavender and Billie, fellow interns who want to beat Mary to the punch and tech billionaire Mr. Norton?

Seriously, who wouldn’t love a science-based musical from The Doubleclicks? And to help celebrate the musical’s album release, we got the chance to check out the music video for Science at Home. It is full of fun science projects you can do at home with friends and family! And some that you might want to avoid. I’m not saying it isn’t possible to grow a human body on your pet hedgehog, but you might want to pass that one up. The song is catchy and will have you humming or singing lines for the rest of the week! Plus, the spooky feel is just what we need as we close in on Halloween.
Teaching a Robot to Love cast includes Aliza Pearl as Mary Coral, Amy Dallen as Faun Terra, Laser Malena-Webber as Marsh, Bonnie Gordon as Lavender Terra, Xander Jeanneret as Billie Pepper, Zach Reino as Mr. Norton Norton and Aubrey Turner as Advernado Assistant. E. Aaron Wilson served as the musical director and orchestration for the show.
Can’t get enough of Science at Home? Me too! But we don’t have to wait long for the entire album. The Doubleclicks have shared with us that they will be dropping the album for Teaching a Robot to Love next month and you can pre-order it now! So, keep an eye out on their Instagram and Tiktok and sign up for their special musical-specific newsletter for more news and announcements (we’ve heard a video game is coming soon)!
We’ve linked the video for Science at Home below so you too can become addicted and memorize every line! We also have some beautiful character sheets to introduce you to a few of the characters you will see in To Teach a Robot to Love! Now excuse me while I head off to conduct a few of my own experiments!
