Read that again. Netflix has taken eight of Dolly Parton’s most iconic songs and created an anthology that showcases the stories behind the songs. The score of the series will be classic and new Dolly Parton music. What’s even cooler is that the stories vary in tone and setting. There are western stories, revenge comedies and inspirational stories. We are so in!
The trailer for Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings is sure to, forgive me, tug on your heartstrings. It starts with Parton saying, “Songs. They’re just stories put to music.” In the 2:09 trailer, I was choking up while the songs were making my brain swim with cathartic, bittersweet thoughts. Along with her music, Parton appears throughout the anthology.

The cast is nothing short of stellar and there are too many to name!. Some of the cast includes Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin O’Donoghue and Kyle Bornheimer. Married dynamic duo Gerald McRaney and Delta Burke star together in an episode.There’s also a Thirtysomething reunion with Timothy Busfield and Patricia Wettig.
