Another spooky season brings us yet another installment of Supermassive Games’ most chilling franchise. The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes follows a military group as they uncover the mysteries of an ancient civilization and the horrors that come with it. But we aren’t here to talk about this year’s terrors! At the end of every installment of The Dark Pictures game, we get a glimpse at what is to come next. And I need next year to get here now because – The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me.

Thankfully, enough people have finished The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, so The Devil In Me trailer can be found all over the web. And it is definitely giving me some horror Saw inspired vibes. The franchise has leaned heavily into the supernatural vibe, but this one feels like something so much more. The narrator monologues about how it feels to be a killer as we get glimpses into different moments from the game, including some gruesome deaths.

Each of the previous titles goes heavily into the supernatural side and leaves little hints here and there that uncover the real-life afflictions that explain what is really going on. No spoilers here, of course! I highly suggest uncovering these for yourselves! However, this trailer for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me skips over the supernatural feel. And oddly enough, I am quite okay with this. Like I said before, it is giving me major Saw vibes and I hope we are getting a thrilling serial killer mystery-style game.

The teaser for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me also lists itself as the final chapter in season one. Supermassive Games had previously announced they were shooting for eight games within the franchise. It looks as if we are going to be getting at least two seasons if the second includes four games unto itself. We also learned that Supermassive Games’ took out a trademark for Dark Pictures Switchback. This might be the new title for the second season or an entirely new set of games. We will be sure to keep a lookout over the next few months!

We don’t have a release date for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me, but I can guess it will be sometime in October. We’ve dropped the trailer below, thanks to BigDaddyJende! Check it out! What supernatural twist do you think we will get? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
