Is it another Halloween season without Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco dropping a new horror video game? I think not! In the post-credits scene of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, we got out first look at The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. And it was a terrifying peek into what horrors lay next. There are very few things that really get my shivers started. But caves and monsters in the dark rank high on that list.
In the brand new trailer, we are introduced to the characters we will be trying to keep alive. They all look to be members of a military group that is either exploring these vast caverns or have mysteriously found themselves trapped in them. We have Rachel King (Ashley Tisdale), Jason Kolchek (Paul Zinno), Nick Kay (Moe Jeudy-Lamour), Eric King (Alex Gravenstein) and Salim Othman (Nick E. Tarabay). We do see more characters throughout the trailer, but I imagine this is going to be the leading group.
As with other games in the franchise, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes will be playable solo, with a friend or up to four friends with couch play. Which makes it the perfect game to enjoy this Halloween. Aside from the new cast of characters, we also get another look at the horror that is to come. The ancient and unearthly creatures are utterly and perfectly terrifying in this new trailer. And it looks like we are going to be facing off with them during gameplay and I couldn’t be more excited. Though I imagine it will be through quick-time events like before.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes drops on October 22, 2021, for PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
