Over the weekend, at NYCC, the CW and DC Comics gave us their sizzle reels for their hit series, Arrow and The Flash.

Arrow starts off showing images from the premiere episode, setting up the threat of Damien Darhk, but then quickly goes in to showing us shots of John Constantine, Jeri Ryan in her role as Queen family friend Jessica Danforth, Anarky working alongside Darhk, and actor Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt, a.k.a. Mr. Terrific. We also get to see our first glimpses of how the Ray Palmer story might play out and that Felicity feels responsible for what happened.

Oh, and how about that shot of the Lance sisters together, Black and White Canary fighting back to back alongside Thea Queen as Speedy.

Finally, the trailer ends on a lighter note, seeing Curtis Holt using that gigantic big brain of his to put together that Oliver Queen and the Green Arrow might be the same person… only to convince himself that he’s wrong.

“Jaw’s not right.”

We also got to see a sizzle reel for CW’s other hit series, The Flash.

We started off, like with Arrow, seeing shots from the Season Two Premiere, with Barry Allen fighting Atom Smasher, then meeting the Earth-2 Flash, Jay Garrick. It then quickly jumps to our first look at Earth-2, giving us Zoom’s motivation that he wants to be the only speedster in the entire multiverse.

The sizzle reel then gives us quick shots of Sand Demon, a character that looks like she could be Dr. Light, another character that could be Tokamak, seeing Dr. Martin Stein light up as a blue Firestorm, Patty Spivot, Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl) introducing herself as Kendra Saunders, Casper Crump as Vandal Savage saying, “I can feel you out there. You don’t yet know your destiny.”

Also, was that Michael Ironside as Lewis Snart, Leonard Snart’s dad, shooting Barry Allen in prison — because that’s certainly what it looked like!

And how about Tony Todd’s voice as the villain, Zoom? Sounds pretty damn perfect.

Finally, we get a great shot of Oliver Queen in what is presumably this season’s crossover episode jealous that he doesn’t have a latte named after him.

“Since when is that a thing?”
“About eight months. Maybe if you save Star City you might get one too.”
