Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are set to once again grace our screens as the real-life paranormal investigating duo Lorraine and Ed Warren. The film, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It was originally slated to premiere in September of 2020. Unfortunately, like so many movies, this had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news is that Warner Brothers has just released a brand new, official trailer ahead of the new release date of June 4, 2021.

The story of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It will follow one of the Warren’s actual cases, much like the previous installations of the franchise. This case is incredibly well known as it is the first instance in U.S. history where a murder suspect claimed demon possession as their defense. The story is perhaps the most sensationalized of all the cases that the Warrens were involved in.
In the trailer, we see the suspect walking down a country road covered in blood. The scenes then flash to moments in the trial as well as terror going on behind the scenes of the trial. There is a definite creepy vibe penetrating the trailer as you see happenings from Lorraine’s point of view. She claimed that she could see beyond the physical into the realm of demons and ghosts. This is part of the view depicted in the film.
