It’s been a year of calm in The Boys‘ world, but that’s about to fly out the window. Amazon Studios unleashed the diabolical, balls-to-the-wall official trailer for Season 3 of The Boys, key art and brand-spankin’ new images on Monday. Folks, “diabolical” is the best descriptor for the said trailer.
Here’s the synopsis for Season 3 per Amazon Studios:
It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.

The trailer opens with Homelander (Antony Starr) embarking on a requisite World Apology Tour after dating Stormfront, a certified Nazi. Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban) now works for Hughie (Jack Quaid). But Hughie soon realizes his method of hitting Vought International where it hurts won’t cut it. Time for Plan B!
So, Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) gives Butcher a pill granting him the powers of a Supe. We see Butcher wreak havoc with his signature flair for the, well, diabolical.
Additionally, we glimpse Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden) in her element and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) doling out destruction on a level previously breached by Homelander. Speaking of our fave unhinged milk-loving Supe, Homelander hits a new low, so we should expect Starr to push the envelope in that regard. Here’s hoping he finally gets a much-deserved Emmy nod for this.
Besides all the usual blood and gore, we see Frenchie (Tomer Capone) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) channeling High School Musical in a delightful musical parody moment.
Unfortunately, we don’t get a sneak peek of the highly anticipated “Herogasm” plot, but episode six purportedly bears that title, which can only mean chaos.
Season 3 of The Boys soars onto Prime Video with its first three episodes on Friday, June 3. “Payback” is the season’s premiere title, so expect plenty of that and much, much more.
