Get ready for eight stories set in The Boys universe that give heroes a bad name. On Wednesday, Prime Video unveiled the official trailer for the animated spinoff, The Boys Presents: Diabolical! Based on the said trailer, it looks like we’re getting a Homelander origin story among many other high-octane, diabolical things.

Here’s a synopsis for The Boys Presents: Diabolical per Amazon Studios

What do you get when you let some of the most maniacal minds in entertainment today write their own animated shorts set in the world of The Boys

You’d get The Boys Presents: Diabolical, an eight-episode animated anthology series that plunges elbow-deep into the unseen crevices of superhero violence audiences have devoured—and emerges with a fistful of insanity.

The series features episodes from the brilliant and warped minds of Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.

From Homelander’s first mission/mistake and a home for kids who didn’t quite get the A-list superpowers, to Butcher and Hughie in the style of the original comics, The Boys Presents: Diabolical has something for everyone—everyone who enjoys blood-drenched but also shockingly emotional television.

It’s cartoons with the safeties off!

Regarding talent, Prime Video’s pulling out all the stops! Take a look at the show’s massive roster:

Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Kieran Culkin, Giancarlo Esposito, Eliot Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Roiland, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Christian Slater, Kevin Smith, Antony Starr, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Aisha Tyler and Oscar-winner Youn Yuh Jung were announced previously.

New additions include Kimberly Brooks, Nicole Byer, Frances Conroy, Asjha Cooper, Chris Diamantopolous, John DiMaggio, Jermaine Fowler, Emily Gordon, Grey Griffin, Randall Duk Kim, David Marciano, Xolo Maridueña, Dominique McElligott, Caleb McLaughlin, Colby Minifie, Eugene Mirman, Retta, Kevin Michael Richardson, Somali Rose, Parker Simmons, Ursula Taherian, Fred Tatasciore, Sean Patrick Thomas, Angela Marie Volpe, Gary Antony Williams and Jenny Yokobori.

I’m digging the animation style here! I think this particular property fits animation well and gives the Powers That Be opportunities aplenty to push boundaries beyond the confines of live-action.

The Boys Presents: Diabolical drops all eight episodes on Friday, March 4, on Prime Video. Watch the trailer below!
