The Ark Is Back for Season 3

If you were taken aback by The Ark‘s Season 2 finale and found yourself worrying it’ll be an unresolved cliffhanger, never fear. TVLine exclusively reports that Syfy has renewed the sci-fi show for Season 3.

Here’s a synopsis for the series:

The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. In season two, after the brave crew of Ark One reaches their destination and finds it uninhabitable, they must survive long enough to locate a new home for themselves and all the ships that follow.”

We Are So Fortunate to Be Here

The Season 2 finale sees our main players land on Trappist 1D to a colony brainwashed by Evelyn Maddox (Jelena Stupljanin). After Kelly (Samantha Glassner) commits matricide and kills her while saving Felix’s (Pavle Jerinic) daughter, Catherine, Captain Garnet (Christie Burke) announces her plan to venture back into space. The mission? Rescue the other Ark crews and bring them to the now safe (and brainwashed-free) Trappist.

So, the Ark One gang splits up, with some staying on the planet and others joining Garnet. However, once in space, Garnet encounters potential trouble on Ross 128B after receiving a distress signal. Meanwhile, on Trappist, Angus (Ryan Adams) unearths a slab boasting an unknown language, hinting at the possibility of “higher life,” aka aliens. Aliens!

The Cast and Crew

The series stars Christie Burke, Reece Ritchie, Richard Fleeshman, Stacey Read, Ryan Adams, Shalini Peiris, Pavle Jerinic and Tiana Upcheva. It hails from creator and executive producer Dean Devlin, who’s also co-showrunner with executive producer Jonathan Glassner.
