The spookiest, kookiest family on the block are back with a new trailer. The Addams Family animated adaptation dropped the trailer today, giving us a better look at what we can expect. Let’s just say the family are up to their usual antics.
The trailer starts with the family living their life the best way they know how. The children are woken up by their tree, they put dust around the house, bats hit their windows – everything’s going right for them. That is until they decide to move to the spookiest place they know – New Jersey. With the move comes new neighbors who don’t understand the family’s ways. So it’s up to the Addams to show their neighborhood that they’re not so different from each other, lest they be run out of town. They even call in reinforcements in the form of Cousin It. The small Jersey town won’t know what hit them.
It’s a little unfortunate that the film is the nearly the same exact plot as the other Addams films. With this animated adaptation, they could’ve opened up the world and had a new, fun story. I guess if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it? Still, the cast for the film is stellar and if it does well, they could always keep adding on to the story with sequels. That being said, I really dig Wednesday’s noose braids. I’ll have to give it a shot.
