Even before COVID-19 put a halt on the movie industry, we still knew very little about Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet. The first trailer that released in December didn’t answer many questions. We have spent most of today waiting in anticipation for the brand new trailer to drop. It finally released during an event with Fortnite and it was worth the wait. While it might not have explained everything, this trailer helps shed some more light on the story.

We knew from the original trailer and tv spots for Tenet is that John David Washington would be playing a secret agent on a mission to stop World War III. Co-star Robert Pattinson has shared that the film does not include time travel and it looks like he wasn’t lying. Instead, Washington’s character is learning the ability to warp time, which he refers to as inversion. Exactly how this works or how he came about learning this power is still one big mystery, but one we will gladly wait until it’s launch to learn.

One thing that is missing from the trailer is the release date. Initially, Tenet‘s release was July 17, 2020. It looks like that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Warner Bros Entertainment is not ready to double down on that date just yet. They have not commented on if the movie is currently delayed at this time. It wouldn’t be the first film to have its release date pushed back and most certainly won’t be the last.
