It’s official; we’re getting a Teen Wolf revival! Variety broke the news today, on the fourth anniversary of the original series finale, in an exclusive announcement.

Teen Wolf starred Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, a Beacon Hills high school student bitten by an alpha werewolf, for those who don’t know. He develops heightened physical abilities, animal instincts and incredible lacrosse skills. He must keep his transformation a secret and stop evil from reaching Beacon Hills with his friends.

Teen Wolf aired on MTV from 2011-2017 and was a massive hit for the network. There’s no word yet if fan favorites and stars Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin and Holland Roden will return, but Posey and a few other cast members have posted the teaser trailer on social media.

Confirmed to return is Jeff Davis, the original showrunner. Teen Wolf Movie is part of a larger deal for Davis with MTV Entertainment Studios that includes a series based on Edo Van Belkom‘s Wolf Pack books and the Aeon Flux live-action reboot.

Aside from the teaser, we don’t have much plot information save the summary Variety provided:

A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

Teen Wolf Movie will premiere on Paramount Plus in 2022. I will constantly be checking for more news until then. The original series was somehow hysterical, heart-wrenching and frightening all at the same time, and one of my favorite pastimes.
