Ted Lasso Is Back
It’s time to believe … in Ted Lasso‘s return. Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning phenomenon is back for Season 4. We learned in August 2024 that a fourth season was potentially in the works, with stars Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton; Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent; and Jeremy Swift, who plays Leslie Higgins, ready to return.
However, it’s now official. Star and executive producer Jason Sudeikis is on board to reprise his role as our favorite Midwestern coach. Additionally, Juno Temple, who plays Keeley Jones, is poised to return for the new season.

As for other main cast members, Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt; Nick Mohammed, who plays Nathan Shelley; and Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard, are not listed as returning. That said, Hunt is still an executive producer and in the writers’ room, as is Goldstein. As for Mohammed, though, Deadline reveals the actor teased “a possible return” to the series in January.
Season 4 Storyline
Deadline also shares that the season premiere episode could take place in Kansas City before our titular lead returns to the UK. If you recall, Rebecca and Keeley decided to partner to create an AFC Richmond women’s team in the Season 3 finale, and Sudeikis himself confirmed on The New Heights podcast that Ted will coach said team.
Here’s Sudeikis’ statement via Apple:
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’ in Season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”

The Crew
Per Apple’s official press release, Jack Burditt boards Season 4 as an executive producer. Sarah Walker, Phoebe Walsh and Julia Lindon will serve as writers.
With this new angle, there’s more story to tell, so long as they don’t retread old ground. I’m saddened to hear Dunster might not return, but it’s understandable, especially if the other Richmond players aren’t reprising their roles. Let’s see what happens.
