It’s a Tempest in a TEACUP in New Trailer for James Wan’s Horror-Thriller Series

A Tempest in the Countryside 

2024 has been a banner year for horror. Peacock looks to continue that streak for spooky season with Teacup, the forthcoming horror-thriller series from James Wan, the mind behind The Conjuring and Insidious. The eight-episode new series now has an official trailer, new key art and seven additional first-look images, giving viewers a glimpse of the terror to come. 

Here’s a synopsis for the show per Peacock: 

Teacup follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.”

The Cast and Crew 

The series stars Yvonne Strahovski as Maggie Chenoweth, Scott Speedman as James Chenoweth, Chaske Spencer as Ruben Shanley, Kathy Baker as Ellen Chenoweth, Rob Morgan as McNab, Boris McGiver as Donald Kelly, Caleb Dolden as Arlo Chenoweth, Emilie Bierre as Meryl Chenoweth and Luciano Leroux as Nicholas Shanley. 

Teacup hails from showrunner/executive producer/writer Ian McCulloch (YellowstoneDeputyChicago Fire) and is adapted from Robert McCammon’s New York Times bestselling novel Stinger. McCammon also serves as executive producer alongside Wan’s production company, Atomic Monster, and E.L. Katz. Katz (The Haunting of Bly ManorChannel Zero) is at the helm for the first two episodes.

The show will have its world premiere on September 22 at Fantastic Fest. After screening the first two episodes, attendees will be treated to a Q&A with Ian McCulloch, Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Rob Morgan, Caleb Dolden and Emilie Bierre.
