Take My Money
We’ve got romance on our mind again this week, and kicking things off is AlohaDry’s Take My Money. The story follows Miss Mina, your typical campus celebrity. But chaos is about to erupt because her first love has arrived. Except he isn’t exactly giving her a warm welcome. He is ice cold. Now, Mina is trying to use her greatest asset, money, to win him over.
We know money can’t buy happiness, but Mina is bound and determined to use it to buy love. Take My Money is a series that really digs into the romance tropes we know and love. While we can’t wholly understand Mina’s life, seeing as she’s over-the-top rich, we can understand what it’s like to want to do anything to get someone’s attention. This is a great series to help fill the romance need without the sappy parts that come with it.

In Between
Our second series this week also falls into the romance category. HBCUL8ER’s In Between follows longtime friends Eunseo and Sihwa. The friendship takes a hit when Eunseo tries to ask Sihwa out before he moves away. Years later, the two meet again in college after he moves in with her family. Has she moved on? Or will his reappearance rekindle old flames? And is there a chance that he feels the same way, too?
Heartbreak at a young age can make one feel like their entire world will end, so we can understand how In Between’s Eunseo feels. But the real story begins as the two find each other again. While the story features some pretty standard romance tropes, we really enjoy the drama and coming-of-age themes that are mixed in along the way. They help round out Eunseo and Sihwa as characters and drive the story forward.
