I honestly didn’t know that Syfy picked up Helix for a second season. The first season was blah and it took until the last episode to answer any questions and those questions created new questions that went unanswered but the second round of questions were much more interesting than the first round of questions so I’m kinda glad I’ll get to see the second season try to answer that second round of questions and create a third round of questions to ponder. Was that confusing?
Anyway, Helix is bringing Steven Weber (Wings, Murder in the First, Ultimate Spiderman) to the mix for the second season. According to Deadline:
Season 2 finds the doctors of the Centers for Disease Control investigating a deadly outbreak of a new disease on a Windjammer cruise ship. Their investigation leads them to a mysterious island inhabited by a cult with the hope of creating a Utopian society. Weber, repped by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment and Bill Sobel, will play Brother Michael, the charismatic leader of the cult, a brilliant speaker and sermonizer, and also a first-class geneticist.
