The race to find a habitable planet is back on.
SYFY has set a premiere date for The Ark Season 2 and shared first-look photos from “Failed Experiment,” its premiere episode. Here’s a brief synopsis for the sci-fi show’s sophomore installment:
“In Season 2, after the brave crew of Ark One reaches their destination and finds it uninhabitable, they must survive long enough to locate a new home for themselves and all the ships that follow.”

Failed Experiment
If you recall, Season 1 ended on quite a cliffhanger. Proxima B, a planet our crew hoped to call home, exploded after an installed planetary rotation device caused it to burst into flames. While Evelyn Maddox (Jelena Stupljanin) escaped unscathed, our protagonists weren’t so lucky. Debris from the exploded planet struck their ship’s bridge, separating the bridge crew from the rest of the vessel. The incident also destroyed comms.
Thankfully, Evelyn contacted Lt. Garnet (Christie Burke) and offered to send supplies and medical assistance. However, she’s proven untrustworthy in the past, so this benevolent act might boast strings.
The Cast
The series stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, Pavle Jerinic, Shalini Peiris, Ryan Adams, Tiana Upcheva and Christina Wolfe. Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner are co-showrunners and executive producers.

In the photos, we see the arrival of two new characters: Kimi (Diana Bermudez) and Dr. Marsh (Jadran Malkovich). One pic shows Dr. Marsh in a potentially heated conversation with Evelyn. Another image shows Lt. Lane (Ritchie) carrying an unconscious Angus Medford (Adams). We also see Alicia Nevins (Read) and Lt. Lane suiting up to exit the ship into the vast expanse of space.
