Today was a big day for Star Wars fans. At Star Wars Celebration, things were revealed about Star Wars: Episode IX that fans have been eagerly waiting for. Well, just a couple of the things. We finally learned the name of the film in addition to getting a teaser trailer. Let’s talk about the name.
Enter Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker a name that evokes a whole lot of questions and feelings involving the new film. Who is the Skywalker that is rising? Why does this make me think something involves Leia? Is it Rey perhaps, living up to the Skywalker name without being one of blood? It’s a lot to unpack. Frankly, we are just excited to be here for the ride.

The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lord, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, Dominic Monaghan, Richard E. Grant, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, and Anthony Daniels with the late Carrie Fisher. The saga ends December 20th, 2019.
