We finally have some Swamp Thing news! According to Deadline, the live-action series set to premiere on DC Universe just gained a director for the pilot episode. Len Wiseman (Underworld) has signed onto the project not only as the director of the first episode, but he will also executive produce the series.
Wiseman will be helping bring to life the story of Abby Arcane, a woman investigating a deadly swamp-born virus. What she discovers is that the Louisiana swamp has “mythical” and “terrifying” secrets. “When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe”. Given that description and Wiseman’s large horror background, the fit seems a match made in comic heaven.

Wiseman joins director James Wan (Aquaman) in bringing the series to life over on the DC streaming service. Which means that we’re in for a scary ride into the Louisiana swamps! Sadly we have to wait till 2019 but I’m really excited to see what they come up with. Granted, I’m a big chicken so I might not see too much. However, I’m most looking forward to casting news and concept art for the series. It’ll be really interesting to see what they come up for a live action version of Alec.
What do you think about Len Wiseman joining the project? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC Universe news. Swamp Thing will debut sometime in 2019.
