Supernatural opens on a man and a woman sitting at a table. Angela (Tamara Feldman) is struggling with a broken heart, and vents her frustrations to Neil (Christopher Jacot), who is clearly trapped in the friend zone. It seems her ex-boyfriend Matt (Jared Keeso) cheated on her. However, Matt suddenly arrives, ruining the quiet moment. While the two men compete for her affections, Angela takes off in her car. They call her, trying to get her to come back. However, there’s a scream as she looses control of the vehicle. While the opening credits roll, the camera pans to Angela slumped over the steering wheel dead.

Later, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) speed down the road. The brothers bicker as they drive. It turns out, Sam plans to visit their mother’s headstone. While Sam kneels in front of her grave, Dean hovers near-by, hating every minute. However, he looks up and catches sight of a strange dead tree. Even stranger still, there is a perfect circle of dead grass surrounding it. Dean is intrigued. It only takes a few minutes of digging for Dean to learn the grave belongs to Angela.

That afternoon, Sam and Dean visit Angela’s father. However, Sam isn’t convinced that there’s anything to hunt in this case. Could Dean be in looking for a hunt to avoid thinking about their father?

Meanwhile, Angela’s distraught ex-boyfriend sits on the sofa with a beer in hand. Videos from a happier time in their relationship play on the tv in front of him. Suddenly, he notices a weird relfction on the screen. It looks like Angela. Turning around, he barely cries out before his blood sprays across the screen.

The next morning, Dean lies his way into Angela’s house. It only takes a smile and a flash of his eyes to get Angela’s roommate Lindsey (Leela Savasta) to open up to him. He learns that Angela’s boyfriend Matt died the previous night. Weirdly, he cut his own throat. This is all Dean needs to hear.

Later, Dean returns to the hotel catching his brother in mid viewing of Casa Erotica 4. “Awkward…” Dean says, side eying the television. He knows exactly what Sam was watching. As the brother’s talk, there’s an undeniable tension between them.

That night, Sam and Dean decide to burn Angela’s bones. Their hope is that Matt’s death brought her unfinished business to an end. However, as they flip open the coffin, her body is missing. Staring inside, Dean is outraged when they find a necromancy sigil tucked against the wooden walls.

Meanwhile, zombie Angela has found her way over to Neil. He seems taken in as she straddles him, “I’m with you now. Isn’t that what you always wanted?”. She leans in and plants a seductive kiss on his lips.

It turns out that Angela’s friend Neil also had access to books on necromancy. While the Winchester’s investigate his house, Dean realizes they’re looking in the wrong place. Angela’s roommate seemed very broken up over Matt’s death… too broken up. Could she be the other half of the affair which broke up Angela’s relationship?

Supernatural

Across town, zombie Angela attacks her roommate while wielding a massive pair of scissors. The Winchester’s arrive in the nick of time to save her, but silver bullets barely slow Angela down, and she escapes out the window.

In fact, it seems Angela doesn’t know her own strength. As she catches a jittery Neil trying to leave her, she snaps his neck like a twig. He crumbles to the ground, dead.

Supernatural

Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are hurriedly working on a ritual to hopefully put Angela back in the ground. When they get separated after hearing a noise, Angela comes up behind Sam. When he doesn’t fall for her blatant damesel in distress routine, she gives chase. Luckily Dean is waiting near-by with a shotgun, and his shot knocks Angela  back into her coffin. He jumps on top of her, immediately plunging a stake into her heart. “Stay dead,” Dean says as he pulls himself out of the ground.

As the episode comes to a close, Sam and Dean sit on the hood of the Impala. Dean barely holds back his surging emotions while he apologizes. Deep down he knows something happened at the hospital. Only something unnatural could have brought him back. “I was dead, I should have stayed dead…”.
