The boys got a clue from the angels last week on Supernatural. But Castiel (Misha Collins) didn’t tell the Winchesters about his deal with the Big Empty to save Jack (Alexander Calvert). Their main focus is finding Michael (Christian Keyes) and killing him. Michael has been building an army of enhanced vampires and werewolves. Luckily, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have a werewolf friend, Garth (DJ Qualls). They sent Garth into Michael’s hands to try and get a step or two ahead of the Archangel.

Michael is now inhabiting the body of a woman in Kansas City. He had his werewolves clear out a building so he could take over the top floor. His assistant brings in two volunteers who are ready to drink the angel grace. Michael immediately recognized Garth. He has Dean’s memories. Garth ensures that he wants to be on the winning side, so Michael accepts him as a volunteer.
Garth drinks the angel grace, reluctantly. Because of his super wolf hearing, Garth overhears Michael talk about his plan. He mentions Dark Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip) and her whereabouts. Michael wants Kaia killed and the spear destroyed. She also tells Melanie that she plans on turning everyone in Kansas City.
In the meantime, Ketch (David Haydn-Jones) is overseas looking for an egg that the Winchesters need to cage Michael. Ketch found it and had to mail it to escape trouble. Dean is thoroughly annoyed. They need the egg ASAP. And it’s Christmas, so the post office is closed. Poor Ketch…
Garth calls Sam again with information about Kaia and the master plan. He lies to Sam and says he was able to avoid drinking the angel grace. Team Winchester decides to split up. Dean and Cas will go after Kaia; Jack and Sam will break into the post office to retrieve the egg.
Dean and Cas get to the warehouse where Kaia is supposed to be staying. Before they go in, Dean talks about his excitement to finally defeat Michael. He wants to be the one to kill him for taking over Dean’s body. They go inside and find where Kaia was sleeping, but no sign of Kaia. Garth said Michael sent his minions to kill Kaia, but there is no sign of any monsters. It’s a trap.
Sam and Jack are able to get into the post office, courtesy of Jack’s internet research on how to pick a lock. They retrieve the egg, but Sam is immediately attacked. A couple of wolves grab Jack and drag him away. Sam tries to go after him, but Michael stops him. He destroys the egg and knocks out Sam.
Sam calls Dean to let him know that Michael got the jump on them and Jack is gone. They tell him that they didn’t find anything at the warehouse. They tell Sam to stay there and wait for them. Cas specifically tells Sam not to go inside without them. Sam leaves for Kansas City.
Dean and Cas run into Kaia. She holds the spear to Dean’s chest. Dean tells her that he needs the spear to kill Michael. Kaia says he can have it if she can use Jack get home. Their world is no different than the Bad Place. At least there, she has a power to defend herself. Dean agrees, knowing that Jack doesn’t have the power to help her.
Michael ties up Jack. He knows Jack doesn’t have powers. He talks about his plans to take over the world. Michael is going to turn everyone to monsters and lead them. Michael wants Jack by his side. He says Jack will understand once he gets his powers back.
Sam gets to Kansas City and kills a few wolves before going into the building…without Dean and Cas. He finds Jack and releases him. Garth finds them and they leave the building. Garth starts getting sick and turns into mega wolf under Michael’s control. He attacks Jack, scratching him on the face. Dean chokes him out, making Garth go to sleep. They tie up Garth and put him in Baby’s trunk. Cas patches up Jack and they talk about how to handle Michael. Michael will detect Cas coming and know that Sam and Dean are with him. They know this may be the only chance they get to kill Michael.
Michael feels them coming. Cas attacks first but Michael is ready and hits him hard. Sam and Jack come at him from behind, but Michael turns and uses his power to bring them to their knees in pain. Dean walks up with the spear. Michael turns and they start fighting. He knocks the spear out of Dean’s hand. Michael wants to show Dean the world that he will create. Sam gets the spear and gives it back to Dean. Dean takes a swing and cuts Michael’s arm.
Dean backs Michael against the window. Michael’s vessel falls to the ground. Cas, Sam and Jack call to Dean, confused by what just happened. Dean breaks the spear in two and turns to face the others. When he speaks, it’s Michael’s voice. He tells them that Dean was starting to resist. So he found a new vessel to complete his army. But he left the door open to Dean if he ever needed it. This is why Dean was having dizzy spells. Now Michael can start his war.
Thoughts
I knew Dean got read of Michael way to easily! And I knew the dizzy spells meant Michael still had a hold on Dean. This is predictable. The big question now is, is Dean still in there? And can they save him? It’s my hope that Jack will get his powers back in time to save Dean.
