We learn the fate of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) at the start of The CW’s Superman & Lois “Worlds War Bizarre.” The episode begins with the daunting sound of a steady heartbeat. Clark (Hoechlin) opens his eyes, and they allow him to go home. With Clark not healing, Smallville and the world are one superhero short. Not even the sun’s average healing powers can restore his abilities as it usually does.

Once home, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) assures the boys, Jordan (Alex Garfin) and Jonathan (Jordan Elsass), that Clark will get better. Feeling weak and unsteady on his feet, he believes something is wrong and needs to see his mother at the fortress. While the immediate thought is to have Jordan fly him there, he is afraid his inexperience in flying will cause more harm than good. They decide John Henry (Wolé Parks) is their next option.
Before Clark arrives to ask a favor, John Henry and Natalie (Tayler Buck) discuss their findings on Ally (Rya Kihlstedt), believing her to be like an energy parasite. They plan to figure out how the power works to defend against it. When Clark arrives, he thanks them for saving his life, and John Henry agrees to fly to the fortress.
While at home, Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and the girls see Ally’s broadcast. At the Gazette, Lois disagrees with Chrissy’s (Sofia Hasmik) suggestion of reporting what they know of Ally’s plan.

At the Fortress, Clark’s mother delivers the unfortunate news of his cells needing time to repair with a tentative timeline for recovery. The message glitches just as his mother attempts to inform him of how he can speed up recovery.
The residents of Smallville discover the unnatural red glow of a square sun in the sky. Sam (Dylan Walsh) arrives at the farm just in time to hear Clark and John Henry explain his condition.
When Lois reveals Chrissy’s plan to tell Lana everything, Sam protests, urging Lois to shut Chrissy down to avoid a panic. She advises Jordan to keep his ears on high alert for trouble.
The town looks to their mayor for answers amid the D.O.D’s cover story, and Lana sets a town hall before meeting with Chrissy. Lois interrupts the meeting, aiding in the explanation of Bizarro world’s agenda. Lois explains the loss of Superman’s abilities.
John Henry and Natalie analyze the square sun while transmitting their findings to Sam. Without his abilities, Clark blames himself for the state of this crisis.

As Clark attempts to recharge, Bizarro Lana touches down on the farm. Just in time, Jordan saves Clark from near death. To stop Lana from harming Jordan, Clark offers himself to her. Thanks to John Henry and Natalie’s arrival, Bizarro Lana flees.
John Henry and Natalie give a bleak timetable of 12 hours until the worlds merge. Upon merging, Clark will die. The father-daughter pair goes in search of Ally.
At her office, Lana cryptically contemplates with Kyle (Erik Valdez) whether she should tell the citizens of Smallville the truth. Kyle offers wise words and they finally speak about Kyle’s actions leading to the marriage ending.

As Lois rushes home, she encounters Jordan’s disappointment in himself, followed by Clark’s frustration with his inability to save anyone. She eases Jordan’s disappointment and encourages Clark to inspire hope as he always has as Superman.
While at the town hall meeting, skepticism arises when Lana relays the truth and the crushing reality of a crisis without Superman. They question Lana’s credibility and trustworthiness as mayor. Just as the crowd riles up, Superman walks in, inspiring hope and echoing Lana’s words of caution.
Preparing to go through the portal between the worlds, John Henry safe guards Natalie’s suit so she can’t follow him. He plans to defeat Ally without her to keep her safe. Natalie watches the radar and coms in his absence. Once he arrives, he finds Ally firing and hitting her with a missile. This plan backfires with Ally besting him.
Finally getting a moment with Sarah (Inde Navarrette), Jordan attempts to tell her the truth about his family before Lana interrupts. The three encounter Bizarro Lana, and Jordan’s eyes glow as he urges them to run.
Jon-El (Elsass) confronts Lois, Jonathan, Sam and Superman. He attacks Superman, planning to kill him just as Jordan and Bizarro Lana crash through the wall. Jordan faces off against Jon-El.
Natalie loses her father’s signal on coms but receives the sign of the attack at the high school. She flies in to help Jordan save the day.
After regrouping, the Kents find Natalie at their home crying over the status of her father’s disappearance. The Kents offer her a place to stay.

At the end of the episode, Sarah confronts Lana about Jordan’s secrets.
Overall, I held my breath for so many moments of this episode. Smallville’s transformation at the end to mirror the other Earth leaves me wondering if Ally will succeed.
One thing is for sure: with John Henry floating in the void, the world needs Superman to regain his powers now more than ever. I sit on the edge of my seat, waiting for that moment. I can’t wait for the finale!
