In the CW’s Superman & Lois episode “All is Lost” we see exactly how Lucy (Jenna Dewan) met Ally (Rya Kihlstedt). With the episode starting with a flashback of the two and present Lucy still holding out hope for Ally’s return, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in this episode.

At the farmhouse, Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) disagree on Clark going back to Bizarro world and Lois expresses the need to talk some sense into her sister. Meanwhile, Clark explains Lana’s (Emmanuelle Chriqui) decision to distance herself and her family from the Kents.
Much to Natalie’s (Tayler Buck) dismay, John Henry (Wolé Parks) finds out about the suit she’s building. The two disagree on Natalie helping by using the suit for herself. Her father wants to destroy it, citing the danger and her youth as reasons for his reservations.
As more secrets unfold, Lana discovers the video of Sarah (Inde Navarrette) singing at the club. Although she’s happy about Sarah singing, she’s not happy it occurs in a bar.
While at the Gazette, Lois meets Sam (Dylan Walsh) there, and Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) volunteers to join them on the journey to finding Lucy. Although Sam disagrees, Chrissy pleads her case.
On Bizarro World, Ally gives a televised speech expressing a need to unify both worlds.

When Lois, Sam and Chrissy arrived at their destination, Sam advises Chrissy to stay in the car while the pair confront Lucy and the rest of Ally’s followers. Lucy refuses to believe Lois’s claims of all that Ally has done. Because of her obstinance, Sam handcuffs himself to Lucy.
At the farmhouse, Clark and his sons do chores. He checks in and talks to them. Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) believes he’s let everyone down after the sports suspension at school. His father gives words of encouragement. Instead of doing chores, Jordan (Alex Garfin) visits Lana, asking to tell Sarah his secret. Because of the danger of being associated with the Kents, Lana advised him to stay away.
After hearing the talk with Lana, Clark offers to help take Jordan’s mind off Sarah. He teaches Jordan to fly.
To warn Kyle (Erik Valdez), Sarah tells him about her mother’s displeasure at seeing her at the bar.
Finally getting Lucy alone, the Lane family talks through their problems. Lucy asks for time to think over their issues, and Kyle uncuffs them. Just as they were making progress, Ally arrives. She promises soon Lucy will merge. Lois and Sam try to do damage control and talk Lucy out of the merge.

She asks Lucy to help her find Superman. She plans to use him as a power source. Lucy volunteers to get Superman for Lois using the ELT signal. Before Lucy can change her mind, Ally forces her hand by draining Sam and demanding she calls Superman.
While trying to destroy the suit, John Henry finds it to be impenetrable. This gives him a potential change of heart.
Kyle visits Lana, giving her some advice as she feels all the secrets in her life are causing her to lash out.
Once Jonathan finds out Clark and Jordan took a detour to the Fortress of Solitude, he storms off. He had to complete all the chores alone. Before Clark can make things right with Jonathan, he hears Sam’s ELT. He speeds off as Superman to find them.
When he arrives, Ally drains Superman instead, and Chrissy leaves the car. Seeing the scene unfold, she calls John Henry. He and Natalie fly to the location to help.
After draining her fill, Ally flies away. Although Sam is breathing, Superman is not, so Natalie uses the suit to restart his heart. They take Superman and Sam back to the D.O.D.

At the D.O.D, Lucy sits at Sam’s bedside when he wakes. John Henry is in the operating room while they run tests on Superman. His skin is no longer impenetrable. Lois and John Henry go back to the farmhouse to reveal Clark’s cells are normal and that there’s a chance he may never be the same again. They all agree they will have to step up in a world without Superman.
The show ends with Ally asking Bizarro Lana to kill Superman.
This episode had my heart racing! There were so many moments at the end where I wanted to scream at the screen. This leads me to wonder what a world without Superman would look like while Ally is still out there.
The Cushings provided the sweet moments to keep the pacing well, and it kept my heart from racing the entire show. I do like this newfound dynamic they have, but while they are figuring their lives and dynamic out, the Kents are in turmoil yet again.
I cannot wait to see how this turns out.
